Our focus on breeding catfish are Hypancistrus, which are popular aquarium fish due to their small size and attractive coloration. Because of their more carnivorous diet, these fish are not like the algae eaters aquarists are used to. It does best on a varied diet of wafers, pellets, and flakes designed for omnivores combined with meaty food such as brine shrimp and blood worms. Catfish are bottom feeders so usually are purchased to perform functional fish tank maintenance. Soft, relatively acidic water is recommended.
